Meet Food Waste Freddie! Your Local Food Waste Hero.

As of January 2022, Californians must divert all organic waste from the landfill, including food scraps, yard waste, soiled paper products, and other organics. In this video, Food Waste Freddie learns how composting is both easy and fun. The organics diversion program in this video is available only for the unincorporated Lompoc and Santa Maria Valleys. Residents can pick up free kitchen pails from 620 West Foster Road during normal business hours.
