Say Hello to Vermicomposters!
Have you ever wanted to try backyard composting but were held back by a lack of space?
The County is now selling indoor vermicomposters at a reduced price for County residents! Vermicomposting – or “worm composting” – is a great, easy way to compost your fruit and veggie scraps. Worms break down the food scraps, while creating a nutrient-rich soil amendment that’s wonderful for your garden. Check out our Composting ABCs booklet for detailed information on how to get the most out of your compost!

The new vermicomposters are available in two colors, black and purple, and are small enough to fit in your kitchen or patio. The composters compliment the outdoor Earth Machine compost bins that the County also sells for a discounted price.
Please note that the County only offers the composters themselves. Worms, and other materials such as bedding, will need to be acquired elsewhere. Check out our vermicomposting page for more information!
