Tajiguas Resource Recovery Project Highlighted in KCRW Story

Thank you to KCRW for featuring the County’s waste reduction efforts in a recent story about the Tajiguas Landfill. The story highlights our new Resource Recovery Project, which is currently under construction and projected to open in 2021. The Project includes a new Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) to sort recyclables and organics from the trash, and an anaerobic digester to process organics. Read more...

April 7th Hazardous Waste Collection Event

On Sunday, April 7, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the County Public Works Department will host a free Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Collection Event at the Santa Ynez Valley Recycling and Transfer Station.
