MarBorg’s Buyback and ABOP Centers Open Again

MarBorg’s Santa Barbara and Goleta Buyback and ABOP Centers have now reopened, following their temporary closure due to COVID-19. Both facilities are practicing safety protocols to protect MarBorg staff and the public. All customers are required to wear face masks and exercise social distancing.

Both locations are open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00pm.

The following materials are accepted at both centers:

  • Plastic beverage containers marked with CRV (all caps and tops must be removed)
  • Aluminum
  • Bimetal
  • Glass
  • Cardboard (free drop-off)
  • E-waste (computers, monitors, radios, etc.)
  • Fluorescent light bulbs
  • Antifreeze
  • Batteries
  • Cell phones
  • Oil (petroleum based: motor oil, hydraulic oil, etc.)
  • Printer cartridges
  • Paint (both oil and water-based)

Other types of hazardous waste should be taken to the Community Hazardous Waste Collection Center on the UCSB campus. Face masks are required for everyone entering the UCSB campus.
