A Friendly Reminder About Strom Debris
-We hope everyone in Santa Barbara fared well in the recent storms that hit our region. This is a great time to remind folks of where to go if disaster debris accumulates where you live or work. We hope you never have to use this information, but if disaster strikes, we have you covered.

- Disaster debris must not contain or be contaminated with hazardous materials. If you do encounter hazardous materials, be very careful and take the necessary precautions. Learn more about hazardous waste here. To notify the CUPA of a hazardous materials spill or release, call (805) 681‐4927.
- Disaster debris can be hauled by a permitted hauler or a licensed contractor, or self-hauled to the facilities below. The material should be fully contained in a tarp or plastic. Please take all safety precautions when removing disaster debris. The following haulers are approved to operate in Santa Barbara County:

- You can self-haul various dirt, rocks, and inerts to the following facilities. Please call ahead to confirm that your material can be accepted. Special permits may be required.

- The County of Santa Barbara maintains a Material Exchange website to serve as a resource for people to post usable natural material (e.g. soil, rocks, boulders) for others to obtain for free. This encourages reuse, limits debris sent to landfills, and helps keep costs down for homeowners.
