Community Hazardous Waste Collection Center Reopening!

By Apr 27, 2020

The Community Hazardous Waste Collection Center at UCSB is set to reopen beginning Friday, May 1st for businesses (appointment only), and Saturday, May 2nd from 9am-3pm and Sunday, May 3rd, from 11am-3pm for households. In order to prioritize the safety of our staff and patrons, please follow the guidelines listed below:

  • All visitors must wear a face-mask and stay in their vehicle unless requested otherwise by staff.
  • Please place all waste in the vehicle’s trunk so staff can safely gather the materials without entering the vehicle. Also, make sure all items are clearly identified for disposal and positioned so they are easily accessible.
  • Additionally, to help limit the time each person spends at the Center, amounts over the legal limit will not be accepted. Households can legally transport 15 full gallons of liquid or 125 pounds of solid material per trip, in containers no larger than 5 gallons each. Click here for more information.

If you have additional questions or would like more information on scheduling a business appointment, please call our office at (805) 882-3602. You can also find more information regarding hazardous waste and specific materials by clicking here.
