AB 1276 came into effect in California in 2022. It builds upon existing straw and plastic bag bans by prohibiting a food facility from providing any single-use foodware accessory or standard condiment to a consumer unless requested by the consumer.

This bill was established to help reduce the amount of plastic waste we create and encourage take-out customers to opt for reusables.
