Solar Panel Recycling in Santa Barbara County

By Oct 16, 2025

If you're a resident of Santa Barbara County and have solar panels sitting around for disposal, good news! Please see below for information on how to recycle solar panels until November 13, 2025.

Santa Barbara County residents with unwanted solar panels can fill out a drop-off request form here:

https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SBSolarCollection

All solar panels larger than 3” (measured diagonally) originating from residential uses are eligible for drop-off. Solar panels in any condition are accepted. Usable panels will be tested, repaired, and resold back into use. Results of this solar panel collection pilot will be used to inform the County and State of this emerging waste stream and recommendations for future programs.

Those approved to drop off their panels will bring them to MarBorg Industries’ North County location at 1850 W. Betteravia, Santa Maria, CA 93455.

Following this special collection period, the County, in partnership with the California Product Stewardship Council, the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce, and Allan Hancock College, will be hosting a Solar Panel Reuse Training Event.

Please call (805) 882-3602 with any questions, or email owalsh@countyofsb.org.
