The County's South Coast Recycling and Transfer Station accepts clean clothing, matching pairs of shoes, backpacks, purses, and clean rags for reuse! Collection bins are located to the right of the scale house. Click here to learn more about our textile program.

Please drop off your items loose (no trash bags or boxes). Please empty out clothing pockets, backpacks, and purses. Household items that make their way into the bins could contaminate the pile. Remember, it is illegal to dump hazardous material.

Items collected through this program are sent to Los Angeles where they are sorted. Items that are a good fit for reuse are then shipped to countries where the extra clothing is needed. These items are shipped using empty shipping containers that were used to deliver products to the United States. This way, empty space on cargo ships can be used for good. It's a win-win situation!
