Solvang Residents! Door-to-Door Household Hazardous Waste Collection is Available

Residents of Solvang call and schedule to have your HHW pickup from your home FREE! Pickups will be conducted by Waste Management. They will be collected on your appointment day. You do not have to be home for the collection, just leave them outside by your front door/outside your garage!

When you call for a pick-up appointment, a bag will be mailed to your address per quarter with instructions on how to package them. The bag has an estimated volume of 10-12 gallons depending on the shape of the containers. This will be on a first-come-first-serve basis so make your appointment as soon as possible. Waste Management will only do this FREE collection 2 days per quarter with a maximum of 30 households per quarter.

  • March 5 & 11
  • June 10 & 17
  • September 9 & 16
  • December 9 & 16

ACCEPTABLE ITEMS

In general, most ordinary household chemicals and many electronics are eligible for collection. Other acceptable items include garden chemicals, swimming pool chemicals, flammable & combustible materials, automotive materials, needles, household items, paint products, household cleaners, mercury containing devices, and electronics.

Commercial material, material from businesses, and unusually large quantities of the same material are not eligible for this program.

The At Your Door program reserves the right to refuse collection of additional items not listed here. The At Your Door service reserves the right to refuse acceptance
of any items it deems excluded, a hazard or out of the scope of the program, which is designed for the collection of home generated special materials.
