City of Santa Barbara – Household Hazardous Waste Event

The City of Santa Barbara Sustainability & Resilience Department's Clean Community Division and MarBorg Industries are hosting a FREE Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection Event on Saturday, November 16, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Santa Barbara City College's Lot 2-C (La Playa Stadium Parking Lot - enter from Loma Alta Drive).
Program Details
- Events are for City of Santa Barbara residents only. No non-City participants are allowed and no business waste will be accepted.
- Acceptable household hazardous waste includes:
- Antifreeze
- Batteries
- Cleaners
- Electronic waste
- Fluorescent bulbs
- Paints (latex, oil-based, stains, etc.)
- Motor Oil/Oil Filters
- Pesticides/Herbicides
- Solvents
- Residents may bring up to 15 gallons or 125 pounds of waste per trip.
- No biological, explosive, or radioactive materials are acceptable.
Other Options
City residents may use the UCSB Hazardous Waste Facility (Community Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center) free of charge. The Center is open most weekends throughout the year. This facility also accepts CESQG/VSQ hazardous waste most Fridays throughout the year. Learn more about this facility.
