The Resource Recovery and Waste Management Division has many facilities throughout Santa Barbara County that accept various types of waste. Click each location below to be taken to a list of fees and disposal costs.

Both transfer stations accept major credit cards and debit cards, as well as checks. Business customers may also set up an account with Public Works by contacting our Accounting Department at 805-568-3129 or emailing a request to kyhouch@cosbpw.net.

  • South Coast Recycling & Transfer Station (SCRTS)
    • Open Monday - Saturday, 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
      Closed on Sundays, New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

  • Santa Ynez Valley Recycling & Transfer Station (SYVRTS)
    • Open Tuesday - Saturday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
      Closed on Sundays, Mondays, New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. 4004 Foxen Canyon Road

  • New Cuyama Transfer Station (NCTS)
    • Open on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.  The facility is closed on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

  • Ventucopa Transfer Station (VTS)
    • Open on Thursdays and Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  The facility is closed on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

Landfills

    • Note: Only franchise waste haulers and other account holders may deposit waste here. This facility is closed to public dumping. The Landfill is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The facility is closed on Sundays, New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. When one of these holidays falls on a weekday, please call ahead to determine whether the Landfill will be open on another day. The address is: 14470 Calle Real, Goleta, CA 93117. (805) 696-1170
