Water Filters Recycle?
Yes they do! Thanks to a program through Brita and Preserve, you can recycle your old water filters.
Really? Water filters?
Brita water filters are made of #5 plastic and filled with charcoal and other materials. Because they are filled, you shouldn't put them in your recycling bin. However, Preserve, the company listed below, takes these containers back and can recycle the plastic!
What about other brands of water filters?
Currently, Brita water filters are the only ones with a recycling program. If you would like to recycle other brands, contact the companies directly and ask why they aren't following suit with Brita.
