What To Bring:

Just like any clean up event, it is a good idea to wear closed toed shoes, bring your own reusable water bottle and wear sunscreen and other sun protection like hats or sunglasses. Go the extra mile and BYOBOB below!

BYO-BOB:

We encourage you to Bring Your Own Bag or Bucket or friend named Bob! Reusable gloves and friends of other names will be accepted as well.

Volunteer efforts last year saved over 500 bags which were used for cleanups throughout the year. The less trash we generate for the event the better it is for the environment. Read more about the effort on the Coastal Commission's website!

Do we have to bring our own supplies?

Nope. While we want to have the cleanest and greenest cleanup possible, we will have recycling and trash bags, gloves and data cards available for volunteers. Don't be surprised if you only get one bag or one glove, afterall the saying goes Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.

Can We Volunteer Early?

We need YOU to make this happen. Lucky for you, we have a handy sign up system set up through the Ocean Conservancy. Click on a location below the map to be taken to a page with lots of information for the specific location you want to clean. Then you can click the "Sign Up Button" and register!

Ages and Children Volunteers

We welcome all ages at Coastal Cleanup Day. Most of our sites are appropriate for children, but if you see a location that requires a lot of walking, make sure you kids can handle it. We also require a responsible adult to sign for any children under 18. Common sense really.

Community Service Credits:

Beach captains have been authorized to sign your community service credit papers. Bringing the appropriate paper work and helping out is still required!

Want to Propose a New Site? Become a Captain!

If you don't see your favorite location listed below and are interested in being a site captain visit this website and let us know: SignUpToCleanUp.org/. Make sure to include the information asked for in the email. You must be eighteen or over to be a Beach Captain by yourself, though all ages are encouraged to be co-captains!
