ReSource Center Benefits
This new state-of-the-art waste management facility will increase our community's recycling rate to above 85%, generate resources, such as green energy and compost, and dramatically lower local greenhouse gas emissions.
The ReSource Center will benefit the community in a number of significant ways:
- Reduction of Waste – the Center will divert an additional 60% of waste from the landfill
- Reduction of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions – the Center will annually remove emissions equivalent to those generated by 28,668 cars

- Generation of Renewable Energy – the Center will produce enough energy to power 2,000 homes annually
- Improved Air Quality – the Center will capture methane gas and generate electricity with clean-burning gas engines
- Creation of Jobs – the Center will create 100 permanent living wage jobs

- Fulfillment of State Mandates – the Center is vital to achieving state-mandated reductions in GHG emissions and increased diversion of organic waste and recyclables
