Electronic Waste Warning

If it plugs in, charges up, or takes batteries, it can't be disposed of in your trash because it could harm you or the environment. Find out about electronics regulations.

This section shows you how to dispose of electronic waste and related items like cables, DVDs and more.

In the age of digital media, it's not surprising that many folks are ditching old CDs, cassettes, and VHS tapes, not to mention the Walkmans, boom boxes, and VCRs that accompany them.

Before heading to one of the recycling centers below, consider whether others (perhaps those less digitally inclined) might enjoy your unwanted movies and music.  Many libraries will accept CDs, DVDs, and video tapes, as will thrift stores.  Check out our DVD, CD, and Video Cassette Reuse page for more info.

If your supplies really are beyond reuse, check out the places you can recycle them listed below.
