Bidders can look at the information and decide how much they want to offer. The site uses a closed bidder system whereby bidders can see how their price ranks in relation to other bids but cannot see other bids. Buyers and sellers do not learn about each other until the transaction is complete. Once the auction closes, the seller can choose the winning bid, and it does not have to be based on price.
