Either have your tree picked up by your trash hauler or drop it off at a free collection site. Just remember to cut trees over 6 ft. tall and remove all ornaments, tinsel, and stands prior to recycling.

Medication Collection Receptacles Temporarily Unavailable

To ensure the safety and security of the County's medication collection program,Operation Medicine Cabinet, the Sheriff’s Office has temporarily removed the majority of its prescription drug collection kiosks to prepare for the installation of new, improved receptacles. One kiosk remains at Sheriff's headquarters at 4434 Calle Real in Santa Barbara.


Plastic Bags Not Acceptable in Blue Bin

Unfortunately, for the past year we have been unable to find a market for plastic bags and other plastic film. Industry leaders believe that this will continue to be the case for the next several years.


Single-Use Plastic Bag Ban Passed by Board of Supervisors

On August 25 the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors adopted a local ordinance banning single-use plastic bags in some stores in the unincorporated areas of the county. Staff estimates that 8 larger stores and 66 smaller stores will be affected.


Community Hazardous Waste Collection Center Closed July 4th Weekend

The Community Hazardous Waste Collection Center will be closed July 3-5 in observance of the July 4th holiday.
