Depending on where you live in Santa Barbara County, your Christmas tree recycling options will vary. Please see below and don't hesitate to contact your trash/recycling hauler if you have any questions.
On the South Coast, MarBorg customers can place trees in or near their green waste containers or next to their trash containers on their regular collection day.
E.J. Harrison & Sons customers in Carpinteria can place trees in or near their green waste carts or next to their trash on Thursday, January 3.
In the North County, Waste Management and City of Santa Maria customers can place trees next to their trash containers by 6:00 a.m. on their regular collection day from Monday, January 7 through Friday, January 11.
City of Lompoc customers can place trees next to their trash by 7:00 a.m. on Monday, January 7.
Christmas trees can also be dropped off for free at the County's Santa Ynez Valley Recycling and Transfer Station in Los Olivos, at the Lompoc Landfill, and at Waste Management's facility in Santa Maria.
Please remember to remove all ornaments, tinsel, and stands and make sure any trees over six feet are cut in half.
